Quicky

Hello, quick one today, I've just watched one of the most boring movies ever made and am in no mood to sit still any longer. We've got a big game tomorrow as we travel again to Manchester. The only reason this is a big game is because the media have made it so. We've been tipped to fall out of the top four and to be replaced by tomorrow's opponents. Sky sports even dropped us from their premier league preview photo, which has traditionally consisted of a player from each of the top four teams, and has replaced our man with a Man City player, I think it's even Adebayor. Are Man City a real threat to our standing in the league? I suppose you could argue that due to their good start to the season and mass of expensive players with premier league experience that they are. That is not to say that they are not a threat to the other teams towards the top either. Nobody has been talking about Liverpool dropping out of the top four despite the fact that they have little depth and lost a very important player. Nobody talks about United falling out of the top four because they are United, they've lost two very serious players, one who is never injured and scores tons of goals, and another who was capable of changing games when brought on.

The media have made our fixture tomorrow into a gladiator type of affair: kill or be killed. They'll be wielding an axe, we'll have a sword, meanwhile we'll both be fending off the lions while the crowds shout and the lords and ladies eat grapes and applaud. The truth is that this is just another fixture on the schedule. They're a good side with good players and so are we. But the players will have something to prove and there will be a special atmosphere as our boys will be torn between slagging off Adebayor and giving ovations to the former King Kolo. Our boys will want to shove it to the media and I'll love it when they do.

So in summation, it's a fixture like any other with special circumstances. A win will get us back on track after a disappointing and frustrating loss to United and a loss will have news papers going nuts.

Preview tomorrow.
